Many studies reveal that the two most usually dreaded subjects by high school students are Mathematics and Science, may be because of the processes, concepts, logic, algorithm, and laboratory skills used during an experiment and many complex thing that should be done in these two subjects. That is why, the science and mathematics teachers are vigilantly and continuously trying different strategies and approaches to raise the achievement level of students. Today, teaching with multimedia enables learners to acquire technological skills needed to make proper life adjustments in the 21st century and be familiar with technology. `
One instructional tool in teaching Science and even in other subjects that can be considered to dramatically assist teachers and students to raise achievement level is the use of multimedia in teaching Science. As Gliddon explained, “Computers are the future—and it is here.” Multimedia can make learning highly motivating and engaging for students. It’s multidimensional, visual, auditory and kinesthetic appeal to the senses increase learning specially for those who are struggling and have learning problems. Orencia (2007), their enthusiasm will be enhanced and develop through the use of multimedia.
This also makes Science teachers improve their teaching. Modern technologies require teachers to teach differently and more importantly. Science students can improve their participation in social, collaborative and cooperative environments as they work in groups. Teachers themselves get engaged learn along with their students and work collaboratively with classmates so that teaching becomes a challenging, exciting and a team effort. With the advent of the modern technology, certainly teachers may raise the enthusiasm of students in learning Science that will result to higher achievement level.
