We Never Go Wrong with Motivation

Education and motivation are intricately intertwined, and both are essential for human life, it cannot be disputed. A motivating factor is one that encourages someone’s desire and vigor to continue to be interested in and committed to their profession, career, or subject over time, or to make an effort to reach a goal.

The sum of conscious and unconscious factors, such as the degree of need or want and the person’s expectations, is motivation. Academicians define motivation as the factors that influence conduct. Motivation, according to Broussard and Garrison (2015), is what pushes us to do or not do anything. It goes without saying that education never ends. From the moment we are born until the moment we leave the planet; we gather knowledge and observe it.

As the phrase goes, “Living is all about learning,” and the learning process ends when we cease breathing. The people who inspire us most frequently are our teachers. Teachers are artists who carve a magnificent and unique statue out of a shapeless stone. The teachers never get tired of helping people with their sincere enthusiasm and devotion. In order to inspire students and help them become informed members of society, teachers should take into account a number of psychological factors that are important to the learning process.

Of course, motivation is what drives students to keep working and what drives teachers to do their jobs. It is the most significant psychological factor overall. Motivated individuals learn more effectively and faster. Additionally, it is clear that motivation is a personal quality since different people are driven in various ways. Reading inspirational quotations helps someone escape from their daily routine and problems. These words give them hope to keep going and to never give up, no matter what. People are aware that encouraging words and a positive outlook have the power to profoundly change someone’s life and aid in goal achievement. As they say, “to be motivated is to be moved to accomplish something.”

In my opinion, teachers have always been motivators. In addition to having fun while teaching, these teachers consistently inspire their pupils to study while also fostering confidence and elevating self-esteem. The ability to stay motivated is essential for learning achievement. A life of discontent might result from a lack of motivation. Students that are unmotivated in the classroom are unable to advance and achieve excellent academic results. Motivation is divided into two groups by Scholar Nation: primary and secondary. Secondary motivation is all about duty; students learn to pass a test, escape punishment, or please their parents and instructors. Primary motivation is when students are enthusiastic while learning and interest originates from inside the learner, not from outside the learner.

It has been demonstrated that motivated students perform better in class. It goes without saying that everything has two sides, and motivation may be good or negative. An incentive for a task well done is a motivator. For instance, when students make mistakes in their writing or reading, teachers help them to fix them and make an effort to clearly explain each rule. Teachers attempt to understand them and put all of my effort into advancing their knowledge, congratulating them for their minor successes, and anticipating higher results moving forward. Teachers never criticize them out of the blue. On the other side, negative motivation serves as a sort of punishment for subpar performance or inability to finish studies. For instance, a student who participates in swimming, lost a competition and became upset due to his coach’s unfavorable remarks. He no longer felt motivated, and he was ready to quit up. His teacher advised him to practice more in order to become the greatest and most prosperous student. A few days ago, he was on the verge of becoming a champion. This is the result of having strong motivation.

Finally, I want to underline the importance of motivating students since this will motivate them to work harder and achieve academic success. The teacher should provide opportunities for cultivating motivation while instructing, since this approach may be successful in overcoming any challenge. Students will unquestionably be more willing to learn and like the topic, which will improve their understanding of it. When they set a goal, they will work aggressively toward it while also feeling joy, love, actualization, and fulfillment. The aforementioned factors highlight the many sorts of motivations, their functions, and how teachers may harness the motivation’s potential and favorable impacts to advance students’ knowledge and produce outstanding academic performance even in the face of new normal in education.
