If we teachers concede — as we must – that tour youth are the hope of the fatherland, then let us all prepare them for duties of government that will soon be theirs. Certainly, the tools must be given to them so that they may be better and more effectively equipped to govern; and let him who is best qualified lead. And so, while the youth undergo the process of elimination, so to speak, to weed out the less capable for the selection of a leader, those who fail the test must learn to follow, those who survive must learn to lead and to lead well. But, the leaders and those who are led must surely realize that an orderly society is a prerequisite to progress; that all cannot lead at the same time, else anarchy will result.
Considering that quality education in the Philippines is a must, the following suggestions and recommendations must be taken by the teachers:
1. Gives the children time to adapt to the new pattern of behavior.
2. Has a well-planned program of experiences/activities; and has an established routine.
3. Make clear the limits of behavior expected from the children.
4. Relates to children’s needs and interests.
5. Allows creative and original participation.
6. Has a sense of fair play and a desire for justice.
7. Keeps herself relaxed and rested as far as possible.
8. Knows how to get a good balance of firmness and kindness.
9. Has a sense of humor and expects the best from her children.
There are still thousands of dedicated and competent teachers who have accepted these responsibilities for their part in educating the children.
