What is transpiring in the ozone layer of the earth’s atmosphere is a global concern that people on this planet has to be wary about. The ozone is a protective shield of the earth that absorbs most of the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) radiation. The layer has relatively high concentration of ozone which is a reactive form of oxygen. In the lower atmosphere, it is considered as   pollutant. Whereasit is regarded as a friendly component in the upper atmosphere,The ozone layer is said to absorb about 97% of the sun’s ultraviolet light which is implicitly threatening to life on earth.

Scientific research and study theorizes that depletion is in occurring within the ozone layer. One of the primary causes in the thinning of the layer is the broadly used ozone depleting substance which isfound in chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). On estimate, it accounts to more than 80% of the total ozone depletion.

CFCs are anthropogenic compounds that have been released to the atmosphere from different human applications such as air conditioning, refrigeration, blowing agents in foams, insulations, aerosols, and others. Unfortunately, they are all considered as man-made pollutants.

Taking it to a profound view, all of the ozone depleting substance producersare related to the convenience of man. They are considered useful to industrialization and economy but nature is saying otherwise.

As smoke disappears in thin air, it becomes clear that man will not a chance to point a finger to anybody. The hanging questionwhich needs to be addressed with prudence is,“What are we to do then?”

Under the present circumstance, it is the most opportune timeto contemplate on the possible series of questions that will follow. In truth, humankind must not wait for the impact of the eventualities. Definitely, there first resolve to this global concern is to start from one’s self. Instead of man leading the change in his environment, why not let nature change man for the better.
