Everybody seeks for a greener pasture. We all have our goals. We want the best for our families, we want the best for ourselves and for those who are change-agents of the society, they want the best for every Filipinos. These are some reasons why a teacher dreams to be a school administrator. Since leaders are born to be made, it is noteworthy to have the skills that make a good educational leader.
Communication Skills. Since the person in a leadership role is the one who is a link between the organization, teachers, and other employees in an institution; effective workplace communication skills are undoubtedly the most essential qualities that have to be present in a leader.
Listening and Feedback Skills. A leader is not only supposed to give orders and carry out the work, but also has to participate in listening to her teachers regarding any suggestions that would lead to the betterment of the project being worked upon.
Motivational Skills.When it comes to effective leadership, motivation is necessary for getting the work done collectively, without any workplace conflicts. A leader should provide employee motivation and prepare the minds of the teaching staff to use their capabilities to the fullest.
Decision Making Skills. A leader is the one who is responsible for taking final decisions of a project. Therefore, she does have to possess the decision making abilities. However, the decisions have to be backed up by strategic thinking and suggestions from other experienced professionals.
