Teacher plays a vital role in the development of a lifelong learner holistically. The fundamental goal of education is to prepare students and equip them with the competencies they need to succeed and overcome life’s challenges. Teachers should develop their students mentally abled and critical thinkers so, that they can communicate their thoughts and hear their voices. Students should also develop their creative thinking skills for several reasons:
1. Being creative prepare our students to adopt and explore the rapidly changing environment that demands multi-tasking and flexibility. We are preparing our students to be competent and
knowledgeable when they land a job after finishing their studies. They must learn to adapt in using new technologies and processes to solve problems and increase productivity.
2. Being creative prepare our students to discover and develop their full potential. Schools play an important role in students’ development beyond preparing them for success in the labor market.
3. Being creative supports learning by increasing motivation and interest in learning, particularly for those who struggle with rote learning and other teacher-centered schooling methods.
4. Being creative is important in different subjects, from arts in MAPEH, and English to science, technology, and mathematics subjects. It helps the students to become imaginative, creative and develop original ideas and be able to solve problems and think outside the box.
Creativity starts with imagination which is why we have so many inventions nowadays. Let us not limit the thinking skills of our students. It is our responsibility to make art in every lesson we taught because creativity and imagination are brought out for student’s better understanding and comprehension.
