Ability to think critically comprises a wide variety of traits that, when taken together, create a virtue that has both intellectual and moral dimensions and helps to prevent the development of several character flaws. To think critically is to think clearly and reasonably about what to do or believe. Ability to think independently and critically is also a part of this. Controversy and critical behavior have nothing to do with thinking critically. It helps us avoid pointless disagreement by letting us recognize when to be critical rather than always being critical. Because there are so many kinds of arguments to learn about, we may have jumped to conclusions. Understanding how to dissect arguments is a skill that may be acquired through reading. They detonate in the event of an argument of words rather than one of ideas. Philosophy isn’t about fighting over words. For this reason, logic and reasoning are essential. We are considering both the means and the ends of our proposed action. In addition to exposing fallacies and weak reasoning, critical thinking skills can be put to use in group debates and creative endeavors.

Using one’s critical thinking skills can help one learn new information, enhance existing ideas, and fortify weak arguments. It promotes originality and outside-the-box thinking that can be used to any facet of our lives. It encourages us to view the world through the eyes of others and broadens our horizons. Getting in the practice of asking questions is a surefire way to learn more about a topic and clear up any confusion or doubts you may have had. The student’s ability to analyze events could potentially benefit from this. Students need it because it teaches them to analyze situations objectively and find workable solutions. Our students can use it to help strengthen organizational and social systems.
