One of the basic skills to be developed among our pupils is the skill of writing. One can clearly express his inner thoughts, feelings and understanding.
Writing is different from speaking though both are instrumental for effective communication. One has to think first before he print his ideas. Everything should be properly expressed and developed thoroughly. One does this not only to express to his readers, but to make sure that the expression being made will be understood.
Among us teachers, let us develop the habit of writing and inculcate among our pupils the love of writing not only for self-expression and fulfillment but also as a forceful way to communicate, share and influence others for growth and development.
These are the different activities and practices that we can do to develop habit of writing among our pupils.
- Copying sentences
- Making simple changes in verb tense
- Completing unfinished sentences
- Answering questions based on the materials they have read
- Changing the models
- Transforming conversations into stories
- Converting dialogues into a reported speech
- Transforming narration into description
- Analyzing and evaluating
10. Teacher provides a variety of instructional materials
A written expression is a manifestation of dynamism among people, particularly those of our pupils. Their ardent desire to describe, and to criticize undesirable and unscrupulous practices in society will crystallize their hopes and desires in the future and noble aspiration in life.
