“There are many professions which man has adopted according to his knowledge and ability.

A person can adopt any profession or business. It depends upon his aptitudes and mental capability. All professions are equally important for human development. But teaching is the profession which has led people on the high way of progress and prosperity. No development would have been possible if there had been no teacher. All the sciences, all the arts and crafts and all the civilizations and cultures are due to the teaching. In fact teaching is the noble profession let me call the teaching as prophetic profession, because invariably all

prophets are teachers. They taught and preached the message of God.”

The above statement is one among my driving forces, my inspiration and my pride in being an educator. You may have come across those lines before, and may find them trite, but hey! Its core remains true until today.

Teachers have the direct way, immense opportunities and invaluable roles in making a difference in people’s lives. Ever since I’ve been blessed with a chance to be a part of the DepEd family, it has always been my earnest desire to make a difference. Looking at the unimaginable number of people I’ll be encountering as I journey through my years of  teaching, I am in awe! I get so thrilled by the notion of countless moments I could share my passion with all of them!

Everyday, I would remind myself that if there’s one thing I’d like my students to remember about me, it is not how brilliant I am as an educator, for everyone can explain intricate concepts, demonstrate complex skills, and the like, but not everyone can inspire. So, it is how I strive to become God’s extension of love and kindness that I want them to never forget about me, instead. I want my students to feel like they are heard, they are seen, they are valued and they are loved. I want to set footprints on the aspects of their lives which are quite difficult to touch, most especially now that everyone is lonely more than ever, and is easily falling into the trap of great despair and depression.

After all, my profession wouldn’t be tagged as “the noblest” profession if it weren’t for these reasons. It is my delight to see my students believing, truly believing, that their dreams are within their reach. I vow to never let a student walk away refusing to acknowledge the fact that he’s capable of making his hopes come to reality. Every student matters. And for the same exact reasons, I take pride in being a teacher!
