“If I could relive my life, I would devote my entire ministry to reaching children for God!” quoted by an evangelist Dwight L. Moody.

Children’s ministry is one of the most important ministries in the church because they are the leaders and movement shakers of tomorrow.  We have been commissioned and entrusted by God to train of the next generation.  Our children’s ministry in our local churches needed an active presence of youth in molding their spiritual life and be a good model for them.

We can involve children in the life of the church in many ways. Children’s ministry programs are vital-things such as Vacation Bible School and Sunday school classes, but such programs are not ends in themselves. Rather, they are tools to start and then grow relationships among people and with God.

Every year, different religious group conducted a Vacation Bible School in their areas and they are so blessed for the wonderful youth/young people of God who involved and share their knowledge and talents in children’s ministry.  Some of them serve as a teacher, teacher’s assistant, decorations and preparations In-charge, and food attendants for all the kids. VBS has been a priority in our church because it is a spiritual event as we learn of God our creator and Lord. It is not just an event on the church calendar, but an opportunity for everybody for evangelizing. As Jesus said in the bible “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. It is important to remember that we need to bring children to Jesus and make them eager in following God’s command as what the spiritually youth did.

And being part of this ministry as a Sunday school teacher, it was a humbling experience, reminding me as teachers we are still learners.  I learned that teaching is not just imparting knowledge about the bible butshowing your commitment, love, care and eagerness to make them closer to God.

I challenge each youth to be involved in this ministry, sharing your God’s given talent for each kid is a wonderful experience.

How will you get involve?

Participate in children’s ministry by being a Sunday school teacher or teacher’s assistant.

Be a godly model to them, because someday they will become what you are right now.

Become a prayer warrior. Pray for the needs, staffs, and spiritual growths of children within the ministry.

Share your talents in music, arts, dance etc., especially during children’s ministry presentation.

          Young peeps!

What hobbies do you have? Playing piano and other instruments? Computerskills?Dancing? Singing?  How about sharing that part of your life with a child or two? Such sharing provides opportunities to cultivate relationships. And then as you doyou can plant into those relationships information about your own relationship with God.  Who knows! You may just reap a lifelong follower of Jesus who can walk with Christ right along with you. In such sharing of your interests you may also help to equip a child for a career.

I close with reminding us all that we need to involve ourselves and be part in training the next generation for Christ!
