     Time flies indeed. Summer vacation is about to end and welcome another school year. It means another year of challenging tasks and responsibilities for the teachers .   Start the year right and see how smooth the flow is. At the same time , we make an important suggestions to our teachers in order to have a good start for the school year. It should be strategic enough in starting her class, remembering the maxim “ First impression is lasting” .

     Here are some tips to keep in mind to have a good start of classes for the school year.

  • First and foremost , introduce to the class who you are. Your complete name and all your details which include your likes and dislikes, and the do’s and don’ts in the classroom.
  • Introduce the school personnel like the principal, utility , nurse and all other school helpers with regards to their jobs.
  • Set standards and formulate the class rules and regulations for the class to adhere. Be sure to assign penalties or fines for violations, these may help you in disciplining them the year round.
  • Treat everyone fairly and equally . Every child is entitled to be treated accordingly. Never ever play favourites and be transparent to them.
  • Group them and present their area of responsibility or work assignment so they will know what and where to develop even without your command.
  • Familiarize the class with the school facilities.
  • Discuss the school rules and policies at the start so they will know what to comply.
  • Present your class program so they will know what to tackle or bring in the morning or afternoon session.
  • Have a list of the things they are supposed to have like number of notebooks , themes, portfolio, dictionary, diary etc.
  • Proceed right away with your formal lessons for each subject.

Tackle the job well at the very start of the school year , and see how fine our profession is.
