When I started teaching….I felt teaching is the hardest job and many times I cried…..that was before but I’m wrong, very wrong that teaching is not my destination…….TEACHING makes me the happiest one! Here I am….I’m on my tenth year and I am happy and really enjoying my life now as a teacher and proud as ever. I’m fulfilled with my job. I am teaching grade 4 pupils together with my three teaching partners guided by our great leader. Well…let me tell you the typical day of my life as a teacher.

Kring….kring….kring…..the clock alarmed it’s 5 o’clock in the morning! Turned it off then sightseeing and thanks giving within 15 minutes. 5:15 to 5:35 its breakfast then then fixing myself within 25 minutes. At 6:00 am it’s time to go to school.

6:15 I’m in school. When I enter my classroom….the timer starts on my daily routine. Cleaning classroom and surroundings, fixing chairs etc. At 6:30 I am at my favourite place…there on my throne together with my laptop in preparation for my lesson for the day. 7:15 …let the game begin! Teach….teach…teach until 11:00 and 1:00 to 4:10. At 4:10 to 4:40 remedial teaching and so on. The 20 minute time remaining is for ground improvement and for my self-improvement as well. That’s my time schedule everyday. No more no less.

If you will just rely on reading these time schedule you would say that it’s so boring…… I assure and tell you it’s not……within that time the secret of happy teaching life lies. It is the day to day interactions with your pupils keep the spice of your teaching alive. The true secret of happy teaching really is on your part as a teacher. You can’t bring back your day to day life as a teacher so make it a meaningful one each day.Show and let your pupils feel that you care and make yourself available to them anytime and try being a pupil again, learn new things with them, laugh with them, surprise them, sometimes stepped down on their level, don’t use same lessons again and again, share your passions, make jokes, replace lectures with conversation and lastly enjoy yourself. Do some of it everyday you will not fail as a teacher to your pupil. You cannot be the best teacher but at least you are a better one.
