           One of the most awaited and exciting day for a student is the Recognition Day.  School gives award to recognize the outstanding performance and achievement of students in academic, leadership and social responsibility.  These awards help to encourage student to strive for excellence and to become a productive citizen in the community.

           

            In the past school year, the Department of Education recognizes the learners who have shown exemplary performance in specific areas of their life.  In determining honors Academic Excellence and Co-Curricular performance shall be used guided by DepEd Order No. 23, s. 2012 and DepEd Order No. 92, s. 2009.  Academic excellence shall be based on the general average of all learning areas in the curriculum year.  While, the co-curricular performance covers the achievement of the candidates in school, division, regional, national, and international levels to five areas which are contest and competitions, student leadership, campus journalism, officer ship and membership and participation or attendance.

            In this school year, the Department of Education issues a new guideline for recognizing student performance.  The DepEd Order no. 36 s. 2016, known as Policy Guidelines on Awards and Recognition for the K to 12 Basic Education Program effective school year 2016-2017.  Based on the DepEd Order no. 36 s. 2016 the awards given are Classroom awards, Grade level awards and Special Recognition. 

           

            Classroom awards are given to learners in each class or section.  A simple recognition may be given per quarter, semester, or at the end of the school year.  Awardees are given merit by the adviser and/or other subject teachers in recognition of the learners’ outstanding performance in class.

           

            Grade level Awards are given to qualified learners for every grade level at the end of the school year. 

            Special Recognition is given by the school to the learners who have represented and/or won in competitions at the district, division, regional, national or international levels.  This is to publicly affirm learners who have brought honor to the schools.

           

            Enclosed in Classroom awards and Grade level awards is the Academic Excellence Award.  It is given to learners from grades 1 to 12 who have attained a General Average of at least 90 and a passing Final Grade in all learning areas.  The awards given are With Honors or May Karangalan when a student attain a general average of 90-94, With High Honors or May Mataas na Karangalan when a student attain a general average of 95-97 , and With Highest Honor or May Pinakamataas na Karangalan when a student attain a general average of  98-100.  This award can easily achieved by the student when he or she strives hard in his/her study.

            Awards and Recognition is one of the best ways to recognize learners that shows exemplary performance in class or in school.  It can develop self-confidence and passion for learning.  It is the award that every parent must be proud of.  Congratulation to all students.
