On May 18-29, 2015 , National Schools Maintenance Week, otherwise popularly known as Brigada Eskwela will mark its twelfth wave of implementation.
Brigada Eskwela , also known as the Bayanihan Para sa Paaralan, is a showcase of cooperation and participation for the good of the children
Everybody knows that as every school year opens, the Department of Education is always shrouded by the frowning problems relative to the delivery of basic educational benefits to the students.
In the spirit of bayanihan, private institutions, individuals and even the LGU’s contribute in generating resources for the effort . During the two week- long event , volunteers take time in doing the ff.
- Repainting of the roof and exterior walls
- Repair of leaking water pipes , ceiling boards , broken furnitures and windows
- Repairing and leaning of toilet
- Gardening
- Additional signs and slogans
- Classroom structuring
Indeed, Brigade Eskwela is becoming DepEd’s model of genuine public and private partnership in action.
