Helping hand in hand for the beautification of the school and making it back again to be more conducive for learning.

After a long summer break a lot of dust and dirt stocked up in the classroom. Tall grasses at the garden and chairs and wall needed to be fixed and painted again. A Brigada Eskwela is a bayanihan movement that is being conducted yearly weeks before the start of classes. This is where Filipino throughout the country really volunteered to help and provide services for the cleaning, repainting and beautifying the school. Government or non-government agencies spent time to support the program. And some private institutions donated money and cleaning materials too. Through this schools are getting ready to be used for the opening of classes.

“There is no other country that prepares for school opening the way the Philippines does. It’s only in the Philippines where close to seven million Filipinos actually volunteer to help clean schools,” Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Br. Armin Luistro FSC said at the ceremonial opening of Brigada Eskwela in Guimaras, May 21, 2014. “Getting our schools ready for the start of classes in June requires a lot of manpower. Every Filipino can contribute in helping create clean and resilient learning environments for our learners,” Luistro added.

It is nice to see people giving their full effort just to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the school for children’s study in June. For it shows that the future of our kids is really matter for them. That the school can formally open and start classes at the very first day of the class. No more hassle of dirt, no more chairs and desk broken and most especially with and having a positive environment very comfortable and encouraging for gaining knowledge and wisdom.
