From the use of pen and long trace paper rolls, now architect and engineers can make their designs in an instant using applications like AutoCAD. With spreadsheet, accountants today encode and solve with ease the tedious work of using wide columnar pads. PowerPoint presentations are gradually replacing the traditional way teachers impart the knowledge to their students. These are only some of the situations which show that the emergence of computers has definitely changed the scenario in the work place.
Clerks also experience the great impact computers have brought to the world of work. The manner they do their daily tasks has been completely modified. Clerical job becomes easy with the use of computers. Typing jobs can be accomplished right away with no fear of having typographical errors because they are automatically detected and edited. Reproducing forms and other documents are fast. There is no need to keep that old copy and go to photocopy shop. They just need to open the file and print as many as demanded. Arranging and rearranging files to ensure that there is no single document misplaced or lost are not a problem anymore. They can already keep a softcopy of these documents safe and secured.
On other hand, these machines seem to become problems for some reasons. Some old clerks see the use of computers an issue for them. They always reason out that they are too old to use that stuff. They believe they can easily do their tasks in the bygone routines they are used to. Moreover, pending works piled up if there is electrical interruption for computers are powered by electricity.
Computers are already part of people’s lives nowadays whether at home or at the work place. It is there for a good reason. One can never refuse or no longer make an excuse using these machines. They are not only needed. Knowing how to use them and using them are required.
