The new curriculum in the educational field requires a 21st Century teacher. In order to become a 21st Century teacher, each teaching individual must have the following attributes:

Be student-centered.  Considering the student as the most important person in the teaching-learning process is very essential. In order to become a 21st Century teacher, one has to treat the learner as the center in the educative process.  Thus, the learning and progress of each student should be the primary concerns.

Be more innovative.  The recent developments in the field of education demand innovations as coming from the teacher at first. With this, the teacher would be able to transmit innovations to the students making them more inventive, fruitful and productive.  Innovation may raise the students to higher level of thinking and advancement.

Be more creative. Creativity may be manifested in the way the teacher presents the lessons and in providing outstanding learning devices and instructional materials for the students.  The demand for creativity is evident since the interest of the learners should be captured by the teacher in the midst of environmental distractions.

Be more resourceful. As a teacher, it is highly expected that your resources in teaching must be abundant.  A 21st Century teacher should be more resourceful in order to offer better teacher and better quality of education.

Be technologically inclined. The teacher should be technologically literate because technology is the name of the game.  The schools at present are computer-generated that is computers and other forms of technology are incorporated in the teaching-learning process

Be actively engaged. The heart and soul of the 21st Century teacher should actually be embarked in teaching.  The passion to teach is truly overflowing and this could entail activities which are contributory to the learners.  Being the active facilitator, the 21st Century teacher should lead the students in worthwhile undertakings.

Be more relevant.  The teacher should be a modern teacher that is to teach with relevance.  Teaching the applicable and significant knowledge should be done.  Having taught appropriate ideas, tenets, and insights is vital.

            These are the traits that an educator should absorb in order to be considered as a 21st Century teacher.
