In our hectic schedule weekly with paper works, daily lesson logs and managing class we need someone to help and support us. They are the parents of our pupils. They must be there for their child for the complete success of pupil’s progress.
Let’s consider these tips for improving connections with our pupil’s parents.1.Invite parents after class. By this you can discuss some of your problem that you encountered with your pupils and if ever you can ask their help in making some decisions 2. Listen to parent because they know a lot about their child so that after your conversation the parent could take part in improving the academic performance of his child.3. Ask questions about the child’s best characteristics then demonstrate an interest in knowing your pupil.4. Lead with good news. Don’t talk to parents during the meeting and the topics are always the problem and how to solve the problem. Sometimes you need to start it with the good news. Give positive things about their child then share your concern. 5. Let parents know how they can help. There are many ways they can help in the classroom just let them know about it.
There’s no harm in trying to reach our parent. Just be specific when you call them about their child, tell them what aspect their child needs to improve. Be prepared to suggest what the parents can do about it. Teachers and parents must develop positive relationship with the learner in the center.
