“Nothing is permanent except change.” This is much felt in the Philippines particularly in the field of education when the new curriculum changed the trend of education.  The rise of K to 12 Program truly changed the old system and made us aligned with the majority of countries around the globe in terms of basic education.

K to 12 Program is one of the greatest accomplishments of the Aquino Administration.  It is composed of mandatory kindergarten, elementary education, junior high school and senior high school.  The senior high school which is the final stage of the new basic education includes various tracks which will train and shape the students to their chosen field of study.

The primary purpose of K to 12 Program is for the Filipino youth to become globally competitive and recognized.  Through this new period of education the new curriculum will project a different and much better education which will enhance the skills of the learners and leading them to their respective specializations.

A lot of changes are made from the preparation of lessons, pedagogy in teaching, grading system, personnel and facilities due to the rising curriculum in our country but we have to embrace the changes for they are for the good and even for the better.

There are improvements that are being introduced through this new system of education. Noticeably, most of the undertakings are computer-generated because technology makes the work easier, faster and better. That is why the new epoch of education is filled with excitement not only of challenges.

On the part of the learners, though the length of studies became longer than the usual, the benefits it may yield in the future will be much satisfying and gratifying for the graduates of the new program will be much competitive, independent and well-recognized.

K to 12 Program is the education of the new epoch. The present generation of youth will depend on your system and what kind of graduates they are someday will be the manifestations of the new curriculum.

We have to embrace the changes for they are for the good.  They need to savor the welfare and betterment that it may bring to the learners and to the entire teaching-learning community.
