Teachers are said to be the well-respected citizens in a country for they exude pleasing and admirable personal and professional qualities. Though their profession is not lucrative, they still project the best out of them to attend to the needs of their learners of the entire teaching institution.
To empower teachers for the benefit of the learners, you have to consider the following suggestions:
Dignity and Pride. We have to continue that kind of respect that teachers deserve to have in our society. Having them felt the dignity and pride of the teaching profession will be contributory to their empowerment.
Adequacy of Trainings and Seminars. Teachers should be given more opportunities to attend seminars and trainings in developing their knowledge and skills as educators. In this way, the teachers will be highly empowered for they become more competent or proficient.
Further Education. Attending graduate studies is another way of empowering teachers since they will be broadening their level of education by studying more serious endeavours in their field of specialization.
Exposure to Various Activities. Teachers would love to be exposed to various activities inside the school premises or even outside the school. They will be empowered in this aspect for their social experiences will be increased.
Leadership Development. As teachers, they are also entitled to leadership development or training. Teach them the value of leading a group. Then make them feel that they are the captains of the ships. Empowering their minds and spirit will be realized in this way.
Technologically Adept. Since we are living in the digital age, it is important for teachers to be skilful in using the latest technology most especially in the teaching-learning process. The knowledge in computer is a great advantage if you are a teacher.
Teachers need to be empowered for them to perform well in their respective jobs and also to yield better outputs.
Empowerment is what teachers need today so go for it!
