Life is literally made up of communications. The level of satisfaction and success may gain from any classroom or community is due on how were we send/ receive messages. The educational experience in grammar, spelling and syntax does a little. It doesn’t assure that those can make us effective communicators. Mostly our experience and common sense have an advantage when we communicate. There is a process and theory that underlies the act of conveying a message. An efficient and effective way of acquiring skills requires a step by step on what and how to do.
Teachers technique that can be employed is dyadic, meaning two people talking to one another. In the classroom those are conversation, dialogue and interview. This refers to as person to person discussion. This can be used in small or big group discussions. To use interview as a technique in communication it must be planned and organized to its mechanics to elicit the data you need. It is important that the objectives are clear and precise. It is needed to have these to have unity and coherence of thought. Dialogue is also a technique. Just like an interview it also needs a clear topic so that the communication elicited is not vague. There should be support so that the on going communication is to reduce anxiety and defensive and be most cordial.
Like any other classroom, teachers uses conversation to elicit learning. Usually communication is used to gain supportive feedback. Communication is needed in decoding messages put into the system. Communication is not only limited to verbal or oral communication. It also includes the written form while the oral communication follows a systems in enunciating what they express the written more so observe some guidelines too. It employs the rules of capitalization, punctuation marks and coherence of ideas.
There is a real need that teachers are knowledgeable of all these aspects so as to be effective in the instruction of communication both in English and Filipino.
