Teacher quality as manifested in professional knowledge, practice and commitment is an indispensable instrument to academic excellence and in moral functioning. Teacher welfare and high morale are impetuses to lifelong professional development.To this end:
- Teachersmust be given the opportunity and the privilege for professional development through competency-based teacher standards in a continuum of pre-service and in-service training and development programs tied up to teachers’ career progression and teacher welfare/ incentive schemes.
- We mustbe supported in terms of development and welfare through incentives, increased training, moral fortification, and professionalization of the teaching profession, enabling teachers to dream and make dreams happen.
Teacher empowerment as a catalyst of major education enhancement is undeniably vital for the first-rate conveyance of knowledge and skills for the learners. Hence, concession should be given for the never-ending effort strived and exerted by the teachers. Nonetheless, sustainable scheme for upgrading and improvement of methods by the educators willultimately give young Filipinos a chance to succeed later in their life.
Recognizing the fact, that being a teacher is not just simply doing his/her job. It is more of a dedication, patience, sacrifice , understanding and love to be able to deliver exceptional teaching services with more emphasis on handling student with compassion really takes a lot of nerve. Thus, provision of monetary and intellectual rewards arein time a great incentive for the untiring dominance given by the teachers.
Empowering teachers can be seen as defenders of their own existence. For us teachers, working with high morale provides competence in conferring necessary skills and knowledge required by the learners in pursuit of high quality living. Moreover, acquired knowledge will leave a remarkable deed to the mind of the young whichwill givethem decent impression that will last forever.
