Most of us don’t enjoy having a democratic country because of social stratification. The Philippine government has a serious problem when it comes to respecting human rights and observing democracy. Elected representatives at the national and local levels should listen to the people and respond to their needs and suggestions. We’re in a democratic country but we can’t feel the true essence of being a citizen of this country, yes, we can express our opinions concerning the issues that surround the Philippines, but the question is, “Are we part of the solution?”, “Thus, our opinion really matters to elected representatives?”, “Are they aiming for everyone’s’ need? Or are they aiming for their needs?”
Other government officials are governing to earn for their interest and sometimes leads to corruption without them knowing the reason why they are elected into their positions. They were elected because of many reasons, but their purpose is to serve what is right and do what is absolutely right for the satisfaction of the greatest number of people.
According to James Mill, Every man should be considered as having a right to the character which he deserves; that is, to be spoken of according to his actions. Meaning to say, we must act according to our purpose. And for Karl Marx, Working Men of All Countries, Unite! If you know that your rights was declined, you must fight for what is right. The tolerance of wrong doings must avoid.
And if the government protects the right of every citizen and diminish the class or the social stratification, we can have a just and humane society
We must prove to all that we are one. We must prove to all that having a democratic country is having an equal right, freedom, peace, love and may we not forget to respect our fellowmen.
