Young people are now being caught with wired connection. Computer games got their attention rather than education. Some exhibited no interest anymore while some could still manage themselves but of course, time will come when they already loose their focus in studying and will just keep eyes on computer games.
Everyone knows that as you go on a higher level, you will become more interested in doing such matter. Similarly, when you get to the next level in computer games, you will become more addicted and play more. Where some studies have found that video games are similar to addictions such as gambling which create negative social effects.
As introduced by Representative Peter M. Unabia in the Fifteenth Congress, the entry of minors/students to internet cafes or computer rental shops/ computer gaming shops or centers must likewise be regulated to prevent them from excessive playing of computer games especially during school hours that can adversely affect their performance in school. But, instead of doing their assignments and responsibilities at home, many would run to a nearby computer shop to play games. Instead of spending quality time with family during weekends, they locked themselves inside their rooms, eyes on the computer monitor and very serious in pressing the keyboards up and down. Too bad when they’re playing in the internet shops, they are having their bets and when they lose, they will utter mind blowing words inappropriate to them.
Well maybe more of them just stick to their beliefs that they will never loose that game. There’s no future in that, isn’t it? Frankly none. You won’t earn money from it but on the contrary, you have to spend money to be able to play it. You’re loosing focus on your studies while ascending levels of the game. When you lose, you will realize that those times you spent in playing that game are quality times to improve your grades.
When time comes, you will regret it after all. Maybe you don’t give a look at the possibility of losing a better future but when your classmate are already earning bucks, you will regret the time you spent playing instead of studying. But alas for you, regret always happen in the latter part of the story.
Focusing on something means loosing some other opportunity around you. Thus, being able to manage your time is a great resort especially in complying for education. Students have been known to completely disconnect from their friends and surroundings when playing games. Computer games won’t die but you will die in hunger when you can’t buy foods because you did not finish your studies.Students and educators need to be aware of the dangers of excessive gaming. It can have academic, social, and spiritual consequences.
