The heart of the Filipino beats for the nation’s honor and success. In order to achieve the nation’s long term vision, it is important to strengthen the quality of education. Nowadays, it is not only the government that shows some efforts for every school, but also, the stakeholders are actively accomplishing the Department of Education’s mission through participation in Brigada Eskwela.

The DepEd Order No. 24,series of 2008 states that “The Brigada Eskwela is a schools maintenance program nationwide that engages all education stakeholders to contribute their time, efforts and resources in ensuring that public schools are all set in time for class opening. It is a week-long event where local communities, parents, alumni, civic groups, local businesses, NGOs, private individuals and even teachers and students volunteer their time, skills to do minor to medium repairs and maintenance work in the schools.”

The partnership of school and community are truly necessary. Aside from the government, community is also the backbone of every school.  Each of the said stakeholders invests their time, efforts, skills and resources to ensure good atmosphere inside and outside the school.

Donations is not only about the money we give but also, it is about the  strength we spend to make sure that the school is prepared for the start of new school year. Many of us still remember the traditional scenario of a first day in school. Some of us experienced cleaning the classroom and it’s surrounding in the very first day of school. It is the reason why the attendance of the students used to be low.

Truly, Bridaga Eskwela is a remarkable activity of every school. It ceaselessly gains positive feedbacks through these years. If the collaboration and coordination may still be observed in the future, for sure, quality education would be achieved, nation’s progress is visible, and quality education is possible.
