Human Resource is equally, if not more important, in relation to other resources necessary for any organization to flourish. Technology may have progressed by leaps and bounds, machines may have been utilized today more than ever before, yet, without manpower to handle them, will be rendered useless, hence, the crucial role of Human Resource Management.
Human Resource Management is involved not only in the hiring of personnel but also in ensuring that each person hired in the establishment contributes meaningfully to the attainment of goals set through the proper implementation of policies, administration of trainings, standardization or salaries and granting of other benefits that would all result to maximizing each employee’s productivity.
People, being humans are considered the most complex and diverse resource with limitations to their capabilities. Managers must be aware of individual differences and idiosyncrasies of those in the workplace.While inculcating discipline, on the same note, Human Resource should emanate a sense of security to avoid loss of talent and diminish employee turnover.
Management is fully cognizant of the pivotal role of human resource in the success or failure of the company. Being too loose is being open to abuse while being too tight might lead to the exodus of employees which increases the risk of replacements who are not as capable as their predecessors. It is, therefore, incumbent upon the Human Resources to assure that explicit control as well as human consideration be aptly applied with objectivity, without discrimination , depending on the circumstances.
In the Philippines, both the government and the private sectors are geared toward global competitiveness. People are being trained based in international standards. For economy to improve, every worker must be able to keep pace with current developments, trends, and the changing times so as not be left behind. Technological advances should be utilized to aid in the timely and better performance of assigned tasks. Seminars and workshops are being undertake to equip concerned personnel with information, knowledge and skills to enhance their abilities and continuously nurture their potential.
The field of human resource is the end result of the human relations movement of the 20th century. As such, it must evolve accordingly. To meet the demands and cope with the needs of the current condition, thus, furthering the efficiency and effectivity of the labor force, flexibility is the key.
