In the midst of darkness, 13 million Filipinos are suffering due to lack of electricity. The government must take this seriously, before it’s too late.

Poverty. We can’t say the certain fact that we, Filipinos are experiencing poverty and lack of electricity is one of the proofs. Pacman stated that the government’s rural electrification program has not reached 19,000 barangays nationwide. He also added that the ₱5 billion allocated for the program for the last three years had not been enough to electrify the remaining unserved communities. Poverty is there.

Progress. Romero proposed the allocation of at least ₱25 billion for the program to serve the 19,000 communities, still without power. The government is making an action. “Change has come”. President Duterte is making this possible. The NEA and Electric cooperatives, would be able to accomplish their mission of electrifying all communities, including the remotest barangays. There is progress, and if this progress will still continue, tons of Filipinos will benefit and they don’t need to use kerosene, paper or wood for their lighting needs.

Innovation. It’s true that there’s always a rainbow after the rain. Problems of the society leads to improvement afterwards. The time is ticking, days and months were passing by. Each day, the world got to upgrade itself. Innovations and inventions are everywhere, and it is a must, for a better living. We, individuals, can’t just rely to the government every time. We also need to take actions. Prevention, action and cooperation, we must practice those three for the sake of our fellow citizens. Pro-active citizens experiences better situations that reactive ones. Our main priority here is to kill the poverty, so that the next generation will experience a better world, not the one we’re facing today.
