Passion or Career? This question bombarded lots of people’s neurons if you’re reached the adulting stage. You spent years of studying the course you wanted or sometimes the course you’re just forced to take, but does it really worth it? From pre-school up to college and masters, does it really make sense? Will that make people truly happy? Or just make you have money? Lot of people are dealing with this crisis.

Passion is a feeling of intense enthusiasm towards or compelling desire for something. It is your asset, your drive. This makes you YOU. This is your soul, your being. This makes you completely excited, not getting bored or even get tired of doing. This is your relaxation and rest. Those things that bring you joy and put you in a perpetual state of flow. But the thing is, how long can you live your passion? Can your passion make you survive the world?

Career is the profession for which one trains and which is undertaken as a permanent calling. It is the purpose why you studied for so long, to become a professional. Getting into a job you really wanted to do is a major bonus in life. It is like living your dreams and making life easier, happier and complete. But what if it’s not your thing? I mean, this isn’t a thing you’re passionate of doing?

If career and your passion are in parallel lines and didn’t cross each other’s path, you have to choose which is which. In order to live, physiological needs must be well provided. Being practical, people tend to set aside passion over career, sometimes because we are quickly hushed away by parents or the people close to us. But it is not their fault; reality created by the generation before us has conditioned people to think in terms of black and white. Find your own meaning of life. Every person has its own way on how they can enjoy it, and the only way to do so is to find those brief moments of true happiness, live every moment exactly the way you believe it should be lived. The world is giving you endless possibilities but you should always be wise on your decisions. When happiness and survival come together, you probably in the right path.
