Software can be a wonderful asset to the education of young minds according to today’s reports. And instructional software was divided into 5 categories namely: Drill and Practice, Tutorial, Simulation, Instructional games, and Problem-solving software.

Drill and practice refers to the structured and repetitive practice of previously learned concepts to determine the level of mastery of the students most commonly in Science, Mathematics and Kinesthetics. Next is tutorial, it is defined by the University of Oxford’s Education Committee as a chance “to develop an individual student’s capacity to think in depth about a subject area, and to operate with growing confidence within its techniques and methodologies, with the expectation that the process will promote increased understanding of the discipline for both tutor and student.” Tutorial provides information and instructional activities to help students master a topic. Simulation provides models of real or imaginary systems that are used to enhance instruction involving students so they become participants, not mere listeners or observers. In education, the more senses are used the longer the retention of lessons to the students. Instructional games are usually used as rewards or to reinforce a skill. And lastly, problem-solving software provides good hands-on experience to the students with skills such as logical sequencing, figuring out relevant information to solve problems.

In this digital era, learning become so much interesting, and the things that we first think are impossible become possible because of technology. And now, instructional softwares are used in the teaching-learning process. They made the discussion interesting and lively because of the graphics and images that appear to be real, and the fact that the students are the one experiencing the situation to enhance their skills and capabilities.
