Much has been written on the topic of leadership.  From the word “laedare”, leadership literally means “lead people on a journey.” More than leading them on a journey, leadership should motivate and coach people on how things should get done.

Leadership should influence people to accomplish the goals willingly while at the same time, gain their respect, loyalty and cooperation.  The respect, loyalty and cooperation of the people are essential in leading the people.  Without earning the respect, loyalty and cooperation of the people,  the leader losses the moral authority to lead.

Likewise, leadership inspires, motivates, persuades, encourages and empowers others to bring out the best qualities of the team to achieve the desired results.  Leaders should not threaten, intimidate and discourage people from actively being a part of the organization.  It must be emphasized that leadership is actually working through and with the people.

Making everyone an essential part of the organization is of paramount importance to leadership.
