“A good teacher-student relationship is really hard to achieve.” This is one of many conflicts when you are a Teacher. It’s like you adopted different children and you have to be a good father for all of them. At first day of class, we have to adjust because we all have different attitudes and behaviors. There are moments that there are misunderstandings between my students and as their teacher, I became there bridge to be in peace again. Also, we can’t avoid that there’s a different circle of friends inside the classroom. So as their father in the school, I set good homeroom guidelines not to punish them and take away their freedom but to make them unite and be a good person inside and outside the school. A great number of students have a difficulty in obeying the rules especially the use of cellphones during the class but as time goes, they learned to obey that rule. Furthermore, to make our ‘home’ – classroom, feels like home, I assigned a group per day to clean our classroom. It gives them sense of responsibility and while cleaning, they have time for bonding. As of now, it’s really heartwarming to see the improvements in my students. I may not the only teacher that they will encounter in their whole life but at least I have a contribution in their life.

I may solved the problem about our relationship, but as they say, being a teacher is hard and complicated because if the learning is never ending, the problem too  and teachers always survive. As a teacher that teaches more than 6 sections a day in a week, it’s really hard to stay lively and full of energy and it’s harder if your class ais timidand  disturbed. So as the father of the classroom, I do variations in my lessons, I always make sure that my activities will catch their attention. I always make the discussions more creative and motivating so that they will  stay focus and motivated.

Truly, I may not be the biological father of all my students and we may all not blood related but I want to make them feel that learning is fun inside the classroom and it feels like their own home. I know the feeling of comfort that home can give and I want them to experience that in our classroom, I don’t want to give them the feeling that going to school is like entering a haunted house… scary. I want them to say every morning when they open their eyes, “I want to go to school, because it is fun.”
