MAPEH, as a four-component subject in the Philippine Educational System, deals with the mastery of the desired learning competencies per component. It has its own means of developing a life-long learners through the subskills each component has. Moreover, Abcalen (2015) stated that, Music and Arts Program seeks to expose students to and develop appreciation for Philippine, Asian, and Western music. Students do not only acquire factual and theoretical knowledge but are also introduced to applications like singing, playing Filipino and Asian instruments, listening to recordings, and reading, writing and creating music. Also, it provides a vent in order for the students to feel relaxed and tranquil. It also lets the students to divert their negative emotions to positive ones by means of listening to music or observing a painting, illustration or any splendid works or arts.

In addition, Physical Education improves one’s strength by dealing with the physical activities and other related academic tasks. It also develops motor skills, which allow for safe, successful and satisfying participation in physical activities.Quality physical education can influence moral development. Students have the opportunity to assume leadership, cooperate with others; question actions and regulations and accept responsibility for their own behaviour.Lastly, Physical Education increases the sense of sportsmanship among students for they frequently engaged in sports and other related physical activities.

On the other hand, Health promotes one’s care to his or her inner or outer self. It also builds students’ knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes about health. It teaches emotional and social health. It motivates students to improve and maintain their health, prevent disease, and reduce risky behaviours.

Health education curricula and instruction help students learn skills they will use to make healthy choices throughout their lifetime. Effective curricula result in positive changes in behavior that lower student risks around:alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, injury prevention, mental and emotional health, nutrition, physical activity, prevention of diseases and sexuality and family life.

Health education promotes learning in other subjects! One study showed that reading and math scores of third and fourth grade students who received comprehensive health education were significantly higher than those who did not. In general, healthy students learn better. Numerous studies have shown that healthier students tend to do better in school. They have higher attendance, have better grades, and perform better on tests.
