They say that the learners before are different from the present that is why educating them should be better and in achieving this the teachers should apply the new or novel ways of managing them in school. Managing in this way in not simply
teaching knowledge but on how the teachers will treat the schoolchildren better in the teaching-learning process.
To effectively educate the learners of the new generation, the modern teachers should apply the following means:
Treat them with gentleness. The schoolchildren now must find the school and the teacher as the ones caring for them. They should feel that they are being handled with kindness for them to feel that they are very safe and being cared for. They would feel at ease and feel at home in school if they are treated fairly and humanely.
Stimulate their interests to study. As a teacher, you have the power to persuade the child to give interest on his studies. Be a motivating agent that shows that child how important education is to his life and to the future.
Allow them to express their views. The learners should be allowed to state their own opinions and views. This can be realized through classroom interactions. The school should be the center of freedom wherein every learner is given the opportunity to express their sides on a particular discussion thus they are practicing their respective independence.
Let them collaborate their ideas with others. The idea of every learner should not only be confined to oneself instead they should be supported in collaborating ideas with others in order to achieve common goals and yield better learning outputs or results. That is why grouping is encouraged wherein the members of the group share ideas together.
Develop their leadership potentials. As a teacher, you must develop leaders within your class. These young children that you are managing may soon be the next leaders not only in the classroom but also in the society as well in the future. Give them the great opportunity to lead and show their potentials as young leaders.
Encourage them to exhibit their skills and talents. The school is the best place to show one’s talent and skill. The teacher should inspire the child to be at the utmost greatness in showing their talents. Moreover, they should exhibit their respective skills in various classroom activities.
Enrich their core values. The teachers have the power to mold one’s character. Through teaching the right values to the learners, these learners will better shape their respective individualities possessing greater core values which will be instrumental in projecting their moral standards.
By employing these ways of managing the learners in the educative process, we expect to attain better products from the field of education.
