To be a leader means setting a good example and choosing the right choice, whether people will note the good things you`ve done or not.

I`ve always wanted to incorporate good leadership skills in my life; leading to a better point to someone`s else`s life and make a great impact. I`ve heard and seen of good things people have done for others everyday; things that people do which showcase good leadership. People show these acts of kindness to complete strangers, leading by example.

I myself try to show leadership skills in the hope of influencing other people to make better choices. Doing small things such as sharing and leading by example, by being helpful, informative rather than bossy—–correcting while explaining how to do something correctly with hope that somebody will continue the same.

Leadership is not just about the person leading it only works when there are several executing and distributing the good choice among the group of people. That is what leadership is all about, not dictatorship or control; it is about the spread of good ideas and good natured people and the act of kindness to others to create a perfect balance in society.

A leader, I believe, infuses a sense of positivity and directs others to reach the specified goal.

As I prepare for my first year as a school principal, I continue to be humble and  as an  administrator is by far the most difficult because you are into transition stage—- from being a classroom teacher to a school head, a LEADER.

And yes, there are few things I learned about myself as a leader:

First, you`ve got to be open for experiences because these experiences will do or undo you.

Second, the phrase “ maximum tolerance” is now applicable to me because I am now the “ captain of the ship”.

Lastly, I should be very conscious of my acts, words and my fashion sense.

Nevertheless, as Robin Sharma says “ Leadership is not about your title, it’s about your behaviour”.
