The ideal blood pressure for any human being is 120 over 80. If your blood pressure is below 140 over 90, that is considered as being normal. Anything beyond that is something you should worry about.
Doctors have come up with two possible solutions for high blood. First, you can change the way your living or lifestyle change or second, take medicine to control it. If your BP is a bit higher than the normal threshold but still has no effects, changing your lifestyle is highly recommended.
But if is higher than 160 over 100 and you begin to feel the symptoms, it is advisable to take the appropriate medicines prescribed by the doctors immediately.
Changing your lifestyle includes the following:
- Lose weight. If your weight exceeds the ideal weight based on your BMI, your blood pressure will surely be high. If you lose ten pounds, your BP will drop by 10 points.
- Lessen the consumption of salty foods. Avoid the excess use of salt, soy sauce, fish sauce and shrimp paste. Lessen the intake of noodles, dried fish and junk foods.
- Exercise 3-5 times a week from a minimum of 30 minutes to 1 hour. Do your routine that is appropriate to your age.
- Sleep 7-8 hours. Take a rest and do deep-breathing if your feel tired.
- Reduce your work load. Doing too much daily affects your blood pressure..
- Practice anger management. Too much anger can trigger high blood pressure.
- Take extra precaution against the weather particularly summer since it may induce high blood pressure. Drink water regularly and avoid being under the sun too much.
- Eating garlic and drinking pineapple juice does not lower blood pressure.
The best medicine for high blood may include the following:
- If you have a high blood pressure, you need to take maintenance medicine.
- The recommended medicine for high blood is Amiodipone 5 mg tablet that is available from generic pharmacies. It cost around five pesos and can be taken in half or whole tablet daily.
- Before taking any medicine, it is highly recommended to consult your doctor for best results.
