As a 21st century teacher, you must be armed with the principles to guide you along the way in performing the very crucial role in the field of education.  These will not only work for yourself as a teacher but most especially for the sake of the learners.

Principle 1. Be guided by God in performing your profession.

Being a teacher, life would be more directed and blessed if God is within us. Ask for the Lord’s guidance in everything you say.  A teacher will be doing the best things in the profession if you will let God be the source of your strength and inspiration.

Principle 2. Love your job.

Always remember that you worked hard before getting the job that you deserve.  Love your profession and be proud of it. Perform it with pride, dignity and honesty.  Bear in mind that your job as a teacher is a gift and blessing given to you and you have to do the best out of it.

Principle 3. Teach with quality.

Mediocrity has no place in teaching.  Always carry the flag of quality in the teaching profession. The students that you have deserve quality education so endow them on what they owe to know and learn. Be a catalyst of better change among the youth.

Principle 4. Work for the benefit of your students.

You are not in the teaching profession to practically earn for a living alone.  You have to think of the welfare of the learners not of yourself.  You have to exert your efforts in educating them to the fullest for they need to develop and be productive.

Principle 5. Be updated with the latest trends in teaching.

As a teacher of the 21st century, you need to update yourself on the latest pedagogy in the teaching field.  Do not embark yourself with the conventional ones instead follow the most relevant and related methods in teaching.

Principle 6. Be morally upright.

Always stay good and do what is good. This is one principle which keeps you an upright or righteous person.  A teacher who is moral and decent in living a life will be much respected and admired by the community.

Principle 7. Walk you talk.

Be a living example of what you say.  Be able to do what you stated for people will admire you if you follow the rules which you set to serve as an example.

Principle 8. Reach out the community.

Have your stakeholders be informed and aware of your daily school undertakings.  They would love if you give them importance and consult them on significant matters.

Principle 9. Be transparent.

Be open on school undertaking which have relevance and significant to your stakeholders most especially about the development and progress of the students.

Principle 10.  Follow the superior’s good intention.

Be an epitome of obedience and kindness.  The 21st century teacher should set a good example of a benevolent teacher.  The school would find the teacher more pleasing and appealing once he/she follows the superior for the benefit of the school.

These are the principles of the 21st century teachers, and these will be beneficial to them as they perform their duties and responsibilities in the field of education.
