“Self reflection is the school , you’ll enter the gates of wisdom.”—Baltasar Gracian
Reflective teaching means that you take a look at what you do in your classroom , and I think about why do it … Reflective teaching is an example of professional developments , satrting in your own classroom. The process of reflcetion come swith thecycle to follow.
One of the most difficult aspects in teaching is the siloation which imposes by practioners. Teachers spend most of their days alone in their own classrooms , with their own students. Few opportuinities are available to casually observe — and easily learn from — other teachers.Little time is available to consult withone’s collegueges about a difficult students , a persistent management problem , or a lesson disaster . Over the past several years . I have gone on tremendous journey of learning.
I have progreesed from a very structured , in control , type teacher to one that is allowing the students to discover their own learning and question mor eof what they want to kinow. However there is another aspect of teaching which is already regrets or forgotten because of the busy schedules.
Having so much time peparing for and delivering lesosns , it is easy to see why teachers often do not spend the time looking back over what they’ve done , how studnets responded , and what the results of informal nad fromal assesments showed about the information that was actually learned. In fact teacher reflection is a key for teacher growth and should become a part of every teachers career.
