What can a teacher do to be more organized in his/ her time in the classroom? It has been often noticed by teachers that home management does not always come out perfectly as scheduled because of several reasons.Inspite of his/her time management basis like-goal setting, time logs,to do list, planning and prioritizing, often times not all these planned and scheduled hours are used properly.

Now that 2017 has began,as a classroom teacher, you need to be teaching the right direction.Let us fantasize what will make our teaching  situation perfect if we could control every facet.Let us describe an ideal environment to live in and to work in.Let us also describe an ideal day at home and at work and describe an ideal school year for you.Determine also how many of the items marked “essential” you currently have. Finally, analyze what this fantasy exercise tell you.

Schlenger ,a Taw Lawyer in United States of America (2013)who gave some tips in distinguishing between high standards and superhuman expectations also noticed as a result of this survey that many of his clients show some of the essential items that they do not currently have. This in turn will give them a clear signal about where to begin focusing their efforts.

What you want for the whole School year must be translated into SMART goals.S for Specific,M for Measurable,A  for  Attainable ,R for Realistic and T for Time- Bound.

Using this guide, you have this goal for instance”I want to prepare a Remedial Reading program for my students for the second semester”or I want to be a Teacher III in three years time. When you know what your general goal is,break it down into a series of simple,do-able activities when linked together, will contribute to the accomplishment of that goal. Here are some  of  real life goal setting that may help.

1.Set goals in every subject area you’re teaching.

Achieving the goal in teaching is the main ingredients of a lesson. You have to set it and achieve it in allotted period of time.

2.Come up with preparations or activities, that will advance you in the direction of these goals.

Teachers has to set activities  related to the goal that is to achieve.

3.Identify obstacles you may encounter as you undertake these activities.

Be ready for the outcome of activities to be done.

4.Find ways to overcome each obstacles.

Finding ways to overcome such problem will help you manage your time  in class.

If you can follow these suggestions of Schlenger, most probably high performance and achievement of students and promotion for you is not remote.
