STRATEGIES are necessary to attain certain goals. This is also particularly true inside classroom in order a teacher to find ways to make effective the conveying of knowledge to students. The teacher needs to becomes “creative” in her approaches to make students comfortable and at ease in the learning process.
The teacher can act as a caregiver model and ethical mentor, treating students with love and respect, encouraging right behavior and correcting wrongful actions. The relationship between a teacher and student is an utmost concern in order to create an atmosphere of learning.A teacher should be kind but must know to censure students when necessary. Good relationship between students and teachers should be maintained.
There should be a “caring classroom” . by this is means that students should respect and care for each other Learning is enjoyable for students when the class acts as one family. There is light spirit that prevails among students making them receptive to the knowledge imparted to them
The moral discipline of students must also be given attention and instilled. The moral discipline must nurtured in each student. The teacher could use rules and consequences inside classrooms for students to develop more reasoning, self-control and generalized respect for others. This could be effectively done by individually understanding the qualities and character students.
The classroom though must not be only conducive learning area for students. In should also be a “democratic classroom environment”. The class meeting can be used to engage students in shared decision-make and in taking responsibilities .There would be clashes of ideas but in the end the students would decide as one.
Teaching values through curriculum is also an ideal and effective manner to shape the character to students. By using the ethically rich content of academic subject as vehicles for values teaching, proper conduct are imbibed to students. The approach is subtile yet penetrating to the conscious of students. In this process, the students are simultaneously learning knowledge and gaining good values.
Cooperative learning must also exist inside classrooms it fosters students ability to work with and appreciate others the conscience of the craft develops students sense of academic responsibilities and the habit of doing their work well by ethical reflection the students develop the cognitive side character through reading research writing and discussion inside the classroom by conflict resolution the students are taught to solve conflicts fairly without intimidation or violence
