Vanguards of freedom
We are a democratic country and we have a freedom which is a power and which is also a responsibility. The yokes of that responsibility falls on the shoulders of us, teachers.
Freedom is a dangerous thing. We all have the privilege of being who we want to be and what we want to be, but what would happen if what we want to be is not what we should be? The first duty of a teacher is to teach, but to teach what? The real threat to freedom is not an external force, but an internal one that would disintegrate the very core where our democratic privileges stands, the citizens. Teachers are frontliners in protecting our beloved freedom because they’re the ones who guide the young citizens of the country to continue the progress and to protect the interest of democracy over self gratification and anarchy.
Democracy can ruin the entire society. Having been able to say what you want and of course do what you want what, the difference between anarchy and democracy is just a string apart. Democracy is characterised by its educated citizens. Teachers are in charge of the maintenance of the gem of the pearl of the orient which is democracy. Teachers do not dictate nor set boundaries to the actions and the words of students, they expose the effects of doing something. The noble fact about teaching is that we don’t have to use any guns or blades to make someone conform to the interest of education, we make them use their rational nature for them to choose to be good and to preserve the harmony of living in a community. Yes one would be able to do what he wants and when he wants, but one would never do any dumb action because one pondered and one chooses not to because of a teacher.
Freedom is the breeding ground of oppresive rulers. There are many times in history that wicked men rose to power because of two factors first is the freedom to propagate wrong information while the other is the ignorant populace, these two when combined become a formula for complete tragedy. We’ve seen so many men rise like Hitler and Stalin because of the ignarance of their people and so it’s the duty of a teacher to be the first defense of freedom against people who would take advantage of their ignorance. They’re the one who would would be the vanguard of humanness and freedom against tyrants who would exploit the state to their own interest.
It’s never a matter of salary of workplace or of instruments that one uses. Soldiers have arms, politicians have mouths, but there would never be any without us teachers. Freedom is what we all take pride of and what we all enjoy, I’m proud to be a defender of freedom of this country and this world.
