Students need the guidance of their teachers, seniors or even family members. One should have a clear picture about what is right from what is wrong.  Proper guidance in this generation is vital, initial guidance came from the family teachings like proper manner, values and etiquettes.         Teachers have big part in proper guidance and counseling of the students, because students spend approximately 5 to 8 hours a day with their teachers for almost 10 months.  Guidance is an integral part of being a teacher. Guidance is assisting the students in making wise choices, plans and adjustments as he/she faces the many crisis life holds.  A counselor recognizes the worth and dignity of each student, help build their self- esteem and self-confidence, develop better peer relationships, improve organizational skills, improve behaviour and anger management skills (Zufia Azmat). As teachers we have to remove from our mind that students’ problems in discipline belongs to the School Guidance Counselor . Sometimes teachers tend to bring students in the guidance office for just a simple matter. Sometimes classroom teachers use Guidance Office as a threat , they even say ̏I will bring you to the guidance office ̋.  Proper students’ guidance is a part of a classroom management. Good teachers can resolve learners’ troubles and difficulties right there and then without the need to bring the learners to our school guidance counselor .Some typical situations that may arise in classroom setting, a student is crying, reassure the student that is okay to cry and talk to her/him later. Another example is when the student becomes hysterical, teacher should talk calmly, ask whether he prefers to be alone for a while and then counsel him/her later. A teacher needs to closely monitor the students in order for him/her to be aware of any problem or difficulty the student is having. Understanding the situation or the child’s problem, fear or confusion may help teacher in giving the correct solution through guidance and counseling. Once the teacher becomes aware on what is going on, he or she can have more patience in dealing with the problem and thus, making the student more secure or less confused in telling the real or true reason of the problem. So teachers, let us learn about what is going on in our students’ life and begin to adjust their thinking let us do our part in guidance and counseling.  Every teacher is indeed a guidance counselor because it is God given talent to us.
