English is being considered as one of the most significant subjects ever emerged in the field of education.  It leads one to develop verbal and written communication skills in order to achieve proficiency in the said language.

Since English is our second language, many students still need to improve their English skills.  The teachers should consider the best ways in teaching the subject to the students.

The following are the best suggested means to teach the subject:

Enrich the students’ vocabulary.  Providing the students of numerous English words will help them have a big reservoir of vocabulary terms which will be useful in learning the language.Emphasize proper sentence construction.Having a know-how in constructing a sentence is necessary. If students can construct good sentences then they will be able to express more ideas.

Encourage them to construct compositions.  Having learned the construction of paragraphs and other longer compositions will enhance the learner’s ability to self-expression.

Enhance their speaking skills.  Aside from written expression, the students must be able to express verbally. In doing this, they will be able to develop their prowess as an English speaker.

Expose them to more communicative challenges.  The students should be indulged in a lot communicative activities like delivering a speech before a crowd. In this regard, they will be able to develop their self-esteem and proficiency in speaking.

Exhibit their greatness through various performances.  Having the students get involved in role plays and other artistic performances will lead them to be more articulate in English.

Embrace the language as their own.  The students should internalize that English is their own i.e. they should keep in mind that the ability in English is theirs.
