Outside of the tangibles, education is a foundational need of all men. There is a plethora of things which an individual will not be able to learn inside the comfort of homes that can be learned in the school classroom.
The fast paced demand in the acquisition of knowledge and competency requires teachers and educators to take on the challenge and responsibility. As the K to 12 Curriculum presents itself, the teaching task for the millennial generation would mean another level up. For the noble service that education calls for, every teacher must fulfill and accomplish their job in a painstaking manner.
As leaders in the academic sphere, the speculations in the path of the teaching profession presenta multi-dimensional task of being an adviser, a guide, an instructor, a tutor, a guardian, and a disciple rolled into one. Not to forget the mention of the common law doctrine of in loco parentis, teachers are also parents to their students. As registered professionals and time bound by their professional code of ethics,
The teachers’ role with respect to learners is focused on the compliance of their oathto look after the interest and welfare of their students as first in their priority. The bottom line responsibility is for them to unleash the full potential of their students.
Being teachers in the millennial generation is most challenging considering the ratio of students per instructor in the classroom as of the present times. The diversity of influence in the community to individual learners must also be given the proper care and diligence. In order to be at par with the challenges, it also becomes a priority for teachers to update their knowledge, skills, and expertise to their craft and profession.
Nonetheless, every able educator must never fail to get better year after year to be at the peak of their sworn duty. In reality and in principle, teaching is for all generations.
