The Need to Manage Anger in Teaching

As teachers, being infront of the class with the noisy students around, the whole day is a burden for us. We must learn to control our  temper by not getting angry at our pupils or else we might be stressed and cause to have stroke or hypertension, reinforcing social skills through classroom activities by sharing…


As teachers, being infront of the class with the noisy students around, the whole day is a burden for us. We must learn to control our  temper by not getting angry at our pupils or else we might be stressed and cause to have stroke or hypertension, reinforcing social skills through classroom activities by sharing space, keeping the pupils nurtured and protected. And we teachers expect to feel comfortable in the classroom and expectations were consistently met.

 

            Here are number of things to help our pupils develop trust in us and in his classmates.

  1. Recognize our pupils bring different life into classroom.
  2. Do not expect every learner to react to the classroom environment.
  3. Find pupil who has abstracted negative feelings in the room.
  4. Apply best practices to develop mutual trust with individual pupils.
  5. Respond with an open mind about their feelings, perspectives and opinions.
  6. Conduct deep breathing exercises
  7. Count one to ten and calm down.
  8. Prefer the best plan and set it into action.
  9. At the time of anger, told them to freeze for a minute.
  10. Select the right actions to do.
  11. Admonish the pupil to stop, think and act.

As teachers, we should avoid pinching, shouting, uttering bad words, squabbling and etc. There are some ways of disciplining them. At the prime of our anger, we must do the following;
