Behavior is determined by your attitude. Behavior is simply what you do. What you do is a result of your beliefs and attitudes. If your attitude towards running a marathon is one of negativity then your behavior will reflect this!

Having a positive attitude can affect not just yourself but everybody around you as well. A positive attitude sustained will benefit your mental and physical health:

Significance

Those with positive attitudes affect many people, especially if you have a positive attitude sustained in a negative situation.

Motivation                                                                                                                                                                 Positive attitudes provide motivation to get through situations for you and others.

Potentials

People tend to respect those with positive attitudes. Being positive says you believe you and others can achieve success.

Energy

To be given the proper energy and drive to complete a task, a positive attitude is essential. Putting your head down and grinding through a difficult scenario with a positive outlook is much more respectable than simply giving up.

Sense of Direction

Looking at the positive side of situations will take you far. If you focus on the positives in life, then you will get positive results.Sense of Direction

Benefits for positive attitude

A positive attitude is also a coping tool. During times of stress and hardship, positive people manage distress better than negative thinkers. They are able to magnify the positive aspects of their circumstances and focus on them. Stress management helps you avoid headaches, anxiety, anger, over- or under-eating, and drug or alcohol abuse.

Researchers aren’t sure why people with positive attitudes have better health than pessimists do. Positive people cope better with life’s problems, therefore reducing the harmful effects of stress on their bodies. The tendency to exercise more frequently, eat healthier and take better care of themselves overall, may also explain why positive people are healthier. The health benefits include increased life span, lower rates of depression, better immunity to the common cold and better mental health,

A positive attitude, which helps manage stress and promote health, also supports good relationships. A positive attitude can help you cope with interpersonal conflict and socialize better than a negative person. Those with positive attitudes have a healthier self-image. Their “self-talk”–the day-to-day mental chatter–is mostly positive, according to the Mayo Clinic. Positive attitudes also lead to better performance in the work place.
