Many parents especially those who are well -to –do are sending their children to private schools and universities because of the concept that private schools give more quality education than public schools to. The truth is, no matter where they put their child to be educated, the teacher has a great role and is one of the factors in achieving quality education.
Teachers in the private school exert more effort than the public school teachers do. This is because teachers in the private schools are evaluated through their performance as the basis and teachers in the private schools are not permanent. They can be laid off if their performance has not reach the performance level set by the school for them. But there are also teachers in the public schools who also exert efforts just like the teachers in the private schools.
The quality of the education does not depend on the private schools. Public schools can also achieve quality education only if the teachers would give themselves fully to their work thinking that they are not working to earn a living but they are working for the glory of God. “Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (I Corinthians 15:58)
If only all of us would give the best of our ability, we would be able to achieve the quality education that we aim for because I believe that the quality of learners that we produce depends on the quality of the teacher.
