Classroom management is very important thing to consider by the teacher. It should be effective and executed properly so that it will benefit not only you but all the learners. When the classroom management is effectively implemented it will lessen the problems in discipline among learners and it will avoid interruptions and disruptions. There are no secrets to an effective classroom management; it will be attained through your experiences as a teacher and it should be practiced daily.

According to Melissa Kelly, these additional tips will help a teacher in achieving an effective classroom management.

  1. Begin each class period with a positive attitude and high expectations.
  2. Come to class prepared with lessons for the day.
  3. Work on making transitions between parts of lessons smooth.
  4. Watch your students as they come into class.
  5. Have a posted discipline plan that you follow consistently for effective classroom management.
  6. Meet disruptions that arise in your class with in kind measures.
  7. Try to use humor to diffuse situations before things get out of hand.
  8. If a student becomes verbally confrontational with you, remain calm and remove them from the situation as quickly as possible.
  9. If a student becomes physical, remember the safety of the other students is paramount.
  10. Keep an anecdotal record of major issues that arise in your class.
  11. Let it go at the end of the day.
