As what Dr. Jose P. Rizal said, “The youth is the hope of our motherland.” But where are they? In our modern time, instead of focusing on their studies, it seems that many of them are involved in crime, heading down the wrong path, and indulge in vices such as the use of drugs, gambling, smoking, and drinking alcohol. Furthermore it is sad to think that there are children who are not be able to study because of poverty but others who have the opportunity to study are just wasting their time because of the wrongdoing.
Is youth are the only hope for our motherland? According to Atty. Jay De Castro “Besides of the youth, we, as parents and adults are one of the hopes of our nation, because we are shaping their young bodies and mind.” Therefore the parents and adults also have big roles in the lives of youth. So we should also help them in the steps they need to do to change.
In my experience, I can say that not only the parents or the elders can help us but also ourselves. I believe that to achieve success and have a meaningful life you should start helping yourself. Only yourself can help you to hope for a better life. So, as one of the youth, start to show the positive qualities that inspire others. Show that life is complicated at first but by helping yourself and the people around you will see just how good life can be.
To our beloved youth who do not know how to survive the problems that you are facing, try to manually start the change by helping yourself to get you started properly and tranquil lifestyle. Do not be afraid to change because it is not just for yourself but also for our beloved country.
