Many problems are besetting education in the Philippines. These problems may include unqualified and poorly trained teachers, inadequate facilities and equipment and lack of instructional materials.
Due to these problems, educational reforms, programs and projects are needed to address the problems. These educational reforms may, in the long run, redound to acquire quality of basic education, relevance and efficiency of the educational system.
Indeed, educators play a crucial role in achieving educational reforms. They can change the future of the society by teaching students how to be good citizens in their communities. Here comes the role of TLE education. Teachers of TLE education must, therefore, be dedicated in imparting technology to their students.
However, it is not proper that teachers of TLE education should manipulate the minds of their students towards their own point of views on social, moral and political issues. This is because teachers are human beings and for sure they can have wrong ideas and have biased views that lead to distract students and waste students precious times in school.
It is known fact that a teacher is very much remembered if he really cares for his students. Students eventually develop a sense of “friendship” to teachers they can get along with. Students in this “friendly atmosphere” are only learn more.
In the present set up, educators as human beings must be flexible enough to handle the present generation. Students now are very much exposed to modernization in terms of technology. Teachers must deal with their liking and characters in this modern times but, of course, not at the expense of learning.
As human beings and TLE Teachers, the characteristics of teachers are varied. Nevertheless, teachers are expected to be sympathetic, understanding and possess helpful attitude to boost the morale of the students. The behavior of the teachers must directly influence the students’ character and personality.
To sum up, TLE education is a big help to students particularly in shaping their personality.
