Effective teaching promotes effective learning. Teachers and educators should begin with proper training to promote effective teaching. It is essential that the teacher must be guided of the factors that condition the teaching process. Some of these factors are the following:

  • Physical Factors – Teacher must be conscious by the poor physical condition of the pupil such as defective hearing, poor insight, malnutrition, constant headaches and sleepiness which are hindrances to effective teaching. The pupils’ ability to learn as affected by his physical condition must be attended by the teacher. Necessary adjustment must be made to help the pupil with certain conditions to promote learning.
  • Mental Factors – Child’s intelligence and mental habits are the child’s mental factors. The teacher can test the mental ability of each pupil by the use of intelligence or mental test. The teacher must be creative and resourceful to meet their learning needs in accordance with their mental ability.
  • Social Factors – This refers to the pupils’ social background or past experiences. Their social factor has a great effect on the teaching process. The teacher desiring to approach effective learning shall then gather information or data concerning the cultural background and economic status of each child.
  • Emotional Factors – Interests, desires, or attitudes of the pupil reflect emotional factors. If the pupil has a genuine desire for learning or a need for the mastery of the lesson, it is his attitude that matters. Proper guidance over emotion plays an important role.
  • Language Factor – This refers to the medium of communication used by the pupil. The pupil experiences difficulty in expressing himself in other languages hence a roadblock to understanding resulting to difficulty in the teaching-learning process. The K to 12, the new program of the department meets this factor, the mother tongue language.
